Carfilzomib is a type of chemotherapy medicine and a second-generation proteasome inhibitor. Carfilzomib is authorized for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) and may be administered on its own or along with dexamethasone or with lenalidomide plus dexamethasone.

The time span it takes to infuse carfilzomib typically depends on the dose regimen needed and varies from 10-30 minutes.

  • When injection carfilzomib 60 mg is administered on its own it is infused over either 10 or 30 minutes.
  • When carfilzomib is administered with the medicine dexamethasone it is infused over a period of 30 minutes.
  • When carfilzomib is administered with the medicine lenalidomide plus dexamethasone it is infused over a period of 10 minutes.

The number of carfilzomib 60 mg infusions you receive in a week mainly depends on the treatment combination being used. Carfilzomib may be given on 2 successive days or once weekly.

  • When Carfilzomib is administered on its own it is infused on 2 successive days each week.
  • When Carfilzomib is administered with dexamethasone it is given on either 2 successive days each week or once weekly.
  • When Carfilzomib is administered with the medicine lenalidomide plus dexamethasone it is infused on 2 successive days each week.
