Zoledronic acid may be used in the treatment of patients with osteogenesis imperfecta. A single 5 mg dose of zoledronic acid injection is used to treat Paget's disease.

How to Take Zoledronic acid: Zoledronic acid is given as an infusion into a vein. A healthcare professional usually administers this injection. Zoledronic acid is sometimes administered as a single dose only one time. The injection may also be administered once every one or two years. How often you receive zoledronic acid injection will depend on why you are using this bisphosphonate. Drink at least two glasses of water within a few hours before your injection to keep from getting dehydrated. You will also need certain frequent medical tests.
